Guntersville this spring?
i sent a few pm's to some folks who claimed they were headed to guntersville after i had returned. not one has posted that i have saw about how they did and not one sent me a pm. no malice intended toward you with this thread, but i would love to know how some of you did.
Re: Guntersville this spring?
hey wormy...sorry bout that but have been working to catch up on the job :D
we were there 2 weeks after you and the shad spawn was over. we hit some spots you recommended and caught some but no where near what you did.
most of our fish came from the mid lake humps early on blades and cranks. caught a couple in the pads on horny toads(that was fun!). in the afternoon we hit the boat houses mostly roseberry creek area.
i will say this tho....every fish we caught, with very few exceptions, were in the 2-4 lb range and VERY aggressive.
we are going back next may...but 2 weeks EARLIER!!!;)
thx for the PMs wormy!!!
p.s. if anyone needs lodging in the scottsboro area, I fully recommend The Fishin Hole. it's right on the lake, extremely nice, sleeps 6-8 and we paid 150.00 per nite. http://fishinnhole.com/
Re: Guntersville this spring?
glad to hear you had a good trip. those are some very mean fish down there indeed. hopefully you will hit the shad spawn next year as i did. good luck this year.
Re: Guntersville this spring?
I made it down the week after I read your report, I caught several fish, nothing very big, but I did have a good time. I put in at Golden Pond and they were having a huge open tournament, I was told there were 1200 anglers in the tournament. There were boats everwhere. I got to fish about three hours and got ran off the lake by a thunderstorm. My wife and I were staying near the town of Guntersville so the next morning I put in at the ramp across the bridge going north of Guntersville. Caught fish all morning on a green pumpkin Sinko working out around the edge of the grass. On the way back to Knetucky I received a call from my daughter that my mother in law was involved in a car accident. She has been in the hiospital since the accident, and is going through therapy for her injuries. I have not had time to fish and have just glanced at the dicussion board a couple of times.
I appreciate the help, this was my first time to Guntersville and I do want to go back.
Re: Guntersville this spring?
certainly understandable in your situation. hope your mother in law recovers from her injuries. a prayer has been said for her.
