What name is berkley putting on that line now? Was always my favorite line, then it just vanished.
That's a great question. Luckily my local tackle store carries the Berkley Trilene Maxx in Photochromic and orders it regularly. I have heard they changed the name, but I don't know what the new name is, or if it even exists anymore. I just know where to go to get it when I need it.
Berkley is no longer making the photochromic in the big game. Shimano 4 Life is correct, you can only get it in the Maxx now. But you better get as much as you can because Trilene has discountinued the photochromic color. This came from my good friend at the Cain Pole in Richmond. He still has 1/4 pound spools in stock of all sizes but said they wouldn't last long.
According to Berkley, the new Trilene Transoptic was shipped out to retailers last week and should soon be available. High vis above water, invisible below. I'll have to give it a try. This is might be why the photochromic is being discontinued???? Just a guess.
I called Berkley and the lady I spoke with said this is part of there 2010 line and it should be shipped in August. There website lies.
Berkley TransOptic was shipped out earlier this week to dealers:cool:. Not for sure if it's the same line or not.........or if it glows under a black light like Photochromic did. The site at Berkley said that the line took close to four years to develop and distribute.
The Photochromic as of right now is still under the Maxx name.
They quit making it in big game and started making it in the maxx. Taked to the berkley rep Tim Hoskins last week and they have quit making it in the maxx now as well. It's gone! He said buy it up because it's no longer being made in the maxx now.
