Wilgreen Lake - Sunday evening
I usually hit Wilgreen once or twice a year just to wet a line. That place gets fished to death. Anyway..I launched about 6:00 and fished til 10:00. Ended up with 7 of the smallest LM you have ever seen. Biggest would have went about 11". I was flipping the brush and caught 2 or 3 so I decided to move out and fish deeper water hoping for a little bigger fish. No luck. Caught several more but all dinks.
Oh well, better than sitting at the house.
Good luck!

Would you or anybody else know how the bluegill fishing has been lately at Wilgreen. I was thinking about going over there weekend after next and was hoping to get a report. How is the water condition too? Do you know what the temp. is? Thanks.
Re: Wilgreen Lake - Sunday evening
I lost a four pounder there Sunday morning and caught around 20 more. Most were small but some were good fish for that lake.

I saw several people catching gills. Not sure bait or technique..sorry. Water had normal Wilgreen stain, not bad at all. Temps were 78-81.

Thanks Procraft Cat for the info. I think I'll give it a try.
Re: Wilgreen Lake - Sunday evening
I have bluegill fished a couple times there over the past month and I have caught some nice slabs and a couple nice shellcrackers. The fish were in the shade around cover or rock about two feet deep. I am not sure where they will be now though after the spawn. I would try fishing the grass lines a bit deeper for the nice keepers. Sorry for not awnsering your question in the earlier post.
Re: Wilgreen Lake - Sunday evening
Hey sglass no problem before. Thanks for the reply and report. Yeah, they probably have now moved deeper. Just glad to hear there are still some decent size gills being caught there. I think I will give it a try, just hope it doesn't get so dang hot over the next couple weeks. Spring just doesn't last long enough. Another 3 weeks we will be wishing for fall fishing to get here!!!
