Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
I hate to hear that Dave. I love dogs!
Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
Very sad news indeed....I hate to thear this, these dog's play a really important role in helping to protect our natural resources. Just this past weekend, or maybe it was two weekends ago that Kentucky Afield aired a segment on conservation officers and their K9 companions Thanks for letting us know.
Mhall - If you ever think you need to "borrow" a dog let me know...my house has more dog's than any household should.
Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
Hate to hear that as well, I'm a huge dog fan.
Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
this is very sad....when those officers recieve a dog the officer and the dog has to go thru extensive training together.. essentially the officer and the dog become best friends... i know that the old madison county conservation officer had a lab and when he went anywheres the dog was with him on or off duty... he would go to lake wilgreen and throw the keys to his truck in a bush and him and the dog would go out on the lake then at the end of the day when they came in he would let the dog find his keys and it did quickly.... when thurmond retired his dog did too...when i ever get hired i would love to get a K9 unit...... but that is horrible what happened on cland today......

I'm a Lab Lover myself. I take Maxx with me just about everywhere I go including work. During the Winter I take him even more since he can handle the cold compared to the heat.
Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
You know they are truely a man's best friend.
They never Nag or complain.
They are always glad to see ya, truely glad not that fake stuff.
They like everything you like no matter what it is.
They love without conditions and they don't hold grudges.
I've often said Human being's could learn alot from the animal kingdom, in some respects they have it all over us.
Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
Got an old black lab here, he's almost 13, half blind and half death I think. Also have a German Short Haired Pointer and three miniature dachshunds. If you all ever need anything hunted down and killed in your back yard my bird dog and and miniature dachshunds are for hire :)
Re: Very sad! on the Big C.
Update: "Shilo" has been recovered and put to rest in a hill top overlooking kdfrw907 place.
Maybe Andrew or some one with puter skill's can link for more info about this tragic story.
