2nd time in a month ive done this...last one a crankbait also,but hit immediately as it hit the water
Done that at Herrington and had a buddy do the same there. Were you there by chance?
Flatheads eat live bait and prefer it over anything else. It's very common to catch Flatheads on artificial baits.

caught one about the same size as the one in the pic trolling for walleye about 2 months ago at monroe. Hell ofa fight and great eating.
