I will be camping next weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington area. Is there any decent fishing close by to the Park for bass, from the bank? Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
Bassky

I worked on the Outdoor Stadium all last winter,it's right in front of a fair sized lake on park property and you are allowed to fish there,it was ice covered half the time so I have no idea how the fishing is,but was told there are decent fish in it.It is overrun with ducks and geese, both domestic and wild. They need to be thinned out.
Elkhorn creek is not that far away and Corinth Lake is several miles drive.
Side note : We dug up over 30 bodies in unmarked graves in front of the Stadiums Hospitality Building, they think they were from the Cholera epidemic in the 1830's-1840's.
They were moved to the University of Kentucky by Archeoligists for identification.
I have pictures on my cell phone, but no way to transfer to the internet as of now.

Cool........
What type of cell phone......whose is the provider.
If your phone can use it.....you can use a mini SD card, and xfer from the phone internally to the mini SD, and then use a card reader to read the mini to your puter......this is what I do with my verizon service.

Kyfanatic,
So is the park haunted? Built over an old graveyard? You did say the Hospitality Building, right? Not the campground? Thanks for the headsup on the lake. I will bring my poles with me.

At the Horse Park, can someone just drive up, park, and fish, or do you have to stay at the Campground or pay for admission?
I have camped there several times nice park. I will miss driving into sportsman wharehouse. I have fished the park lake I believe it is only 2 to 3 feet deep I did not have no luck. This spring when I camped down there, I fished a gated community in georgetown, awesome fishing 10 bass in two hours the largest 6 pounder, it was my personal best ever. The next day I fished a farm pond in paris, caught 10 also all small except one 3 pounder. This fishing camping weekend ruined my fishing, I expect to catch fish every time now.
Cool story but creepy. I get weird'ed out when people start disturbing graves even though it is an accident.

You'd be surprised at how many of the big, tough construction workers were scared to death to help move the tents we had over the archeologists. While I wasn't thrilled,I actually asked a doctor if it was possible to catch cholera from these skeletons or the ground (Not Possible after that long),I was told by an old friend years ago that worked maintenance for Xavier University and frequently had to work around the mortuary science building (morgue). When asked if it bothered him working around those dead bodies,he replied " It's not the dead ones that bother me,it's the Live ones".
I have no proof, but from the number of graves we found and how the ground lay,I'd swear there are more graves under the road and across the road from the new Outdoor Stadium. The state sort of hushed this up to keep progress moving, but there was a news crew there from Lexington one day.Used to be a link from whichever news channel it was that had a film clip that I was in.
To answer the questions, yes you can drive and park near the lake to fish, the bodies were in front of the outdoor stadium's hospitality building for the 2010 World Equestrian Events,I have no idea if it's haunted, but it would sure be a good place.I canceled the internet service on my phone because of cost and can text, but not send pictures.

I have AT&T wireless,I'm not a real whiz on that stuff although I do know what the sim card is,maybe I'll see if the CVS drugstore can help me or the wireless store,I just don't want to pay the extra $ for internet while I'm laid off.

Kyfanatic; bummed to hear you are laid off. I hope it's not your health that's keeping you on the sidelines. Whatever it is I hope it changes for the better ASAP.

Health is fine, economy stinks.Just not alot of work out there and what little there is,folks are cutthroat and back stabbing.
Plenty of jobs that pay less than I draw on unemployment, even though unemployment is only 40% of what i used to make.
