While I don't believe one WORD of the above, WHY would the government, be building them.........

Couple thoughts:
a. Army force structure is strained, having ARNG fill these spaces means Active Army folks can get into units that are on rotational deployments.
b. Terrorist ops means first you tighten the borders, then you start looking for the folks that got in, root them out, and either ship them home or change their minds....resocilalization while retained. Oh yeah, and the folks you retain get "invited" to provide information about their sources, links to home, and co-workers/cohorts.
c. The greatest vulnerability of a free open society is its own freedom of speech and freedom of actions. Those that aim to do us bad will use these same freedoms we protect as a way to attack. They call them sleepers......quietly in.......quietly and subtly influence, incite others to do their deeds. I think Uncle Sam is opening up more hotels for the folks they can identify in this role.
Now if we can get them to open a detention facility beach side at Cabo San Lucas, I might be tempted to go get a robe and start bowing at 3 pm ech day.

Ummm, cause they want to close gitmo and need some place to house those folks, cause there is a war going on and may be they need guards to watch over prisoners. Just a couple of thoughts off the top of my head.

Actually Andrew........that is exactly what I thought..........but still Kind of scary if you ask me.
There was a LOT of grief over internment camps during wwII.........I wonder why it is OK to intern these TERRORISTS now.........AND once they are here, I wonder when we will start paying reparations..........hm..........makes me wonder.

Grief in WWII was cause we held Americans of Japanese decent in camps. They were US citizens. We also held German POW's. Nothing wrong with the latter.

I still don't understand why we need to close Gitmo. We are fighting a couple of wars right now. Do you think it is becasue the enemies of W tied Gitmo to him(the evil one). I guess intead of capturing our enemies on the battle field and giving them chicken and rice a few times a day, we just give them a lead pill. Go ahead and shut it down. Now that we have new leadership, they can't be connected to Gitmo because people think of W now. Why capture our enemies and then put them on our soil in our prisons around our citizens. No, a little lead on the battle field should solve it. Sorry libs but thats war. You have to hurt more than feelings to win.
