Green River Butler County
Going bass fishing on the Green River in Butler County on Thursday for the first time. My father-in-law talked to a guy at Gander mountain the other day that said he caught an 8 lber there the other day. Does anyone on here have any experience with bass fishing on the Green River around Butler County? Just looking for some generalized information so we don't get skunked. I'm thinking we will just put in around the bridge and head down stream flipping along the shoreline. I'm thinking we should produce something. Anyways, I'll give a full report when we get back. Thanks!

Re: Green River Butler County
Not sure about Butler but a county away in Hart County I like to keep 2-3 poles rigged for different banks. I actually like a number of baits, mepps or rooster tail spinners, rebel craw, raphala, and a variety of jigs and occationally a shad rap. The rooster tail and jigs are probably the most versatile because you catch Ky's, smallies, and rockbass. The crank baits will pick up some drum and who knows maybe a walleye or muskie.

Thanks for the response. I figure we will throw jigs and plastics, hopefully pull out some fish. I'll have to bring some rooster tails just in case. Thanks again.

Re: Green River Butler County
I know many of you on here fish the Ohio river quite a bit...any tips on river bass fishing for someone who has never done it? Structure to look for, baits to use, etc? Thanks in advance.

Re: Green River Butler County
Well, after working six straight night shifts (12hr shifts), I was pretty pumped to get a brake and get on the water. Had everything lined up to go fish the Green in BC just like we had planned, then my wife gets called into work and I have to pick the kid up from school and take her to dance clance (denied!). So, I didn't end up going at all. However, my father-in-law and bro-in-law still went. They ended up just catching dinks (spots) and that was it. I didn't feel to bad missing, after hearing how they did!
Going to try and hit Barren this next weekend.
