Jeffersonville,IN Road Rage case
Yalanda Parrish, convicted last month of two felonies for shooting a man during a road-rage incident in Jeffersonville, was sentenced to 10 years at the Indiana Department of Correction on Thursday afternoon.
Three of those years could be served via a work-release program.
Parrish shot Wesley Mosier Jr., 54, of Coyrdon, once in the chest in June 2008 after he got off his motorcycle at a red light at 10th Street and Allison Lane and approached her sport utility vehicle.
The jury was asked to consider whether Indiana’s self-defense law applied in this case.
The jury took less than 3 1/2 hours to reach a verdict of guilty on both counts. However, she was sentenced only on the more serious count, a class B felony.

I also heard on the news that she has to pay this guy back the $1800 dollars in medical bills that HIS insurance didnt cover. I think she should also have to pay back HIS insurance company for all they have paid out for his medical bills. Granted, I wasn't there and don't know the whole story as to what exactly happened, but she pulled the trigger. She should be responsible.
Just my 2 cents.

One thing I learned during my CCDW class was...I hope I never have to use a weapon in self defense but if I do...dead men tell no tales. Sure it's crude and cold but you have a better chance of not being found guilty if the other party is taking a dirt nap.
Re: Jeffersonville,IN Road Rage case
a police officer told my dad the same thing when he got his ccdw license....
Re: Jeffersonville,IN Road Rage case
Im with you guys. I have my CCDW and I hope that I never have to use it but if I do there will be only one side to the story and that is my side.
Re: Jeffersonville,IN Road Rage case
I agree with everything you boys are saying but this lady had no right or call to shoot this fella. She did it because she could and I think the jury and the judge in this case seen that.
That 911 tape and the witnesses really hurt her case and showed what really happened.
The son getting out of the car kicking the man on the ground spewing racial remarks was also extremely out of line as well, he should be in jail to in my humble opinion.

She was safe in her car. If she would have kept the doors locked and dialed 911 she would not have been the one in jail. She got what she deserved.
