Kendall launch ramp and 16ft boat
I've fished the C-land river for years, mainly for striper, but never ventured up to the dam.
I know the ramp at the dam is a little sketchy in low flow for "bigger" boats.
I fish the river out of a 16 ft aluminum boat with 60hp motor and tow with a 4x4.
Would I have any problems launching at the dam?
I've launched at Bakerton a lot with no trouble (most of the time....lol).
Re: Kendall launch ramp and 16ft boat
i don't think you would have much trouble actually launching....i know dad used to launch a 16ft bass tracker there years ago, but like you said in lower water situations, this could be dangerous, i do know there are channels there, that if not familiar with, could tear a boat up quick. the ramp isn't real steep, but its not flat either. in the end you know about how shallow your boat runs, and your abilities, just understand that low water is dangerous, and high water also means fast current. i've fished this stretch since i was a kid and i have seen a boat flood over there before. basically proceed at your own risk and with extreme caution.

You should be fine. As long at the water is coming out of the sluice gate at 2000 cfs you should have no problems. You may not make it too far down the river because of shallow spots at that rate, but I looked yesterday and the river was flowing at 3000cfs plus so at that rate you could go anywhere you want to go. Have fun and catch a ton...
