Federal Red Ink Swamps Outlook
"The White House is predicting a 10-year federal deficit of $9 trillion--more than the sum of all previous deficits since America's founding. And it says by the next decade's end the national debt will equal three-quarters of the entire U.S. economy."
Even the Obama administration is finally admitting we are BROKE. But the WH and its Democrat controlled media are still down-playing it. If that had happened under Bush or any Republicn administration it would have been front page, BANNER HEADLINE NEWS. Instead the Courier-Journal has it as a side column on page B-6.
There has been a lot of talk (and print) lately about comparrisons with the NAZIs and I have to carry that one step further. Our media has definately studied the writings of Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Minister or Propoganda, who said it is better to lie by OMISSION rather than comission. So when you print something that is unfavorable to the administration to tell the truth but to put in in small print on the inside of the newspaper. A Republican does something bad or a Democrat does something good, its headline news on the front page, but when a Republican does something good or a Democrat does something bad, its in small print on an inside page of an inside section. This is nothing new for the C-J, they have been doing it since I first subscribed.

You just hit on one reason many big city newspapers are suffering financially. For example, the vaunted NY Times is in big trouble financially, and most normal people see it as a joke for unbiased news.
People have the internet and many other news outlets disbursing news immediately, so newspapers aren't really needed for actual news. If it weren't for interest in the classifieds, etc newspapers would really be in trouble. Plus people are far more informed and less vulnerable to journalistic manipulative tactics. That's why Fox is kicking CNN's butt and MSNBC is mere blip in the ratings, their liberal bias is blatantly obvious.
If you have one, cancel your sub to the CJ, and tell them why.
Re: Federal Red Ink Swamps Outlook
I haven't bought a liberal journal in many a year. They ruint me years ago with their slanted liberal bile and Pat Forde eventually totally run me off, I can't stand that guy!
Re: Federal Red Ink Swamps Outlook
Again Grumpy, 100% right on!!!
It is amazing, when President Bush was still in office, every single service man/woman that was killed in Iraq caused a headline like:
"President's troop surge results in...... deaths."
Now with President Obama's surge in Afganastan, all we here is a small blurb about a death or something. No blame assigned like they did to Pres. Bush.
Our media is as biased as they come.
tight lines,

The word "purgatory" has come to refer to a wide range of historical and modern conceptions of postmortem suffering short of everlasting damnation, and is used, in a non-specific sense, to mean any place or condition of suffering or torment, especially one that is temporary
