Hey Don, I know one game they will definitely win, the U of L game. The Cards have really good offensive weapons in Vic Anderson at RB, Guy, Scott Long (if he stays healthy) and Beaumont all at WR, but Burke at QB, while he has d-1 experience, he has not ran this offense makes me nervous. Especially with one of the poorest offensive lines in Cards recent history.
Defensive line for UL is not very good, but the linebackers are solid and Johnny Patrick is a really good DB.
UK's defense is going to be really good and that is what beat Louisville last year.
I say if Hartline doesn't lose his mind and remains solid and the defense can stay healthy the Cats are bowling again and they beat UL easy.
As for the Cards, I see 3 wins, possibly 4 and either John Gruden or Phil Fulmer as our next coach and Klownthorpe sent back to the southwest to coach junior college.
Many of you will remember that I contemplated giving up my season tickets after last season, but changed my mind for 2 reasons:
1.) a good friend of mine's son is a freshman and even though he will redshirt this year, I want to see him play as a Card down the road.
2.) We cannot possibly **** forever!
WOW Tim John Gruden, now that would be really cool. He's a hard nose son of a gun but a darn good coach. You really think he'll step down to college from the NFL Huh. I know you get alot of inside scoop in your business, what are you hearing on that front.
Don, didn't mean to highjack your thread buddy. To answer your question, if injuries are low I see the Cats with 6 wins and bowling again. But you are right they aren't gonna beat Bama and they certainly aren't going to beat Florida, is anybody, Dang.
No problem man...good to see ya back! Man Gruden would be cool for sure! I miss the scowl on the sidelines.

Man that is a scowl to. He looks mad enough to kick a Beagle pup most of the time.
I can only imagine what kind of players he would build with his leadership.
Not sure if Gruden would take the job if offered, but he does have a U of L connection and has said that he would be interested in a college job if it was the right situation. It might be wishful thinking but I am sure he is on the short list that Jurich has.

Yea his brother Jay Gruden was a heck of a Quarterback for The Ville. I wanna say his senior year would have been about 1988 or so and he was a four year starter. His stats are still probably top five or so for a four year QB at UofL.
I think the Cats will bowl again, but theres a lot of football between the bye week and the end of the season. They will be beat up pretty bad by mid season, just hope the depth is there.
Stoner
September 5 at Miami (OH) - Win, but not by much
September 19 Louisville - win
September 26 No. 1 Florida - crushing defeat, in pro wrestling terms a "squash" match
October 3 No. 5 Alabama - 10 point loss
October 10 at South Carolina - they never beat Spurrier - loss
October 17 at Auburn - very close loss
October 24 Louisiana-Monroe - win
October 31 Mississippi State - win/swing game with Vandy
November 7 Eastern Kentucky - win
November 14 at Vanderbilt - loss/swing game with Miss/St.
November 21 at No. 13 Georgia - loss
November 28 Tennessee - still been since 1984 - loss
5-7 by my numbers. It's really a decent schedule for them to do something. There's only 3 guaranteed losses. They can beat any of the other teams, but will they?
UK wins 5 maybe 6 games and the Ville will win 4. I think Gruden would b an excellent coach for the Cards but I also think Bob Davey may get a look.
Uh Oh boys Mica Downs is hurt and it may be season ending, sounded bad on the news?? This will really hurt UK, he was a staple on D, and one they can ill afford to loose.
I like how everyone has got the final score already set on the Cards/Cats game. I'm telling ya boys Louisville is not gonna be as bad as everybody thinks they are. They have a talented and intelligent backfield, receiver core and one thing that nobody has gave any credit for at all. This team has heart, I'm telling ya they have been told by so many that they stink they are getting seriously motivated. I feel this team could win 6 games this year and I'm serious as a heart attack. I'll take my lumps from you fellas if I'm wrong and I'll accept it, but I ain't giving up just yet.
Go Cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
