Lake of the Ozarks
Alright guys do any of you have any experience on this lake? I am fishing there the first weekend in Oct. and don't know what to expect other than hopefully the party boats will be cut back drastically... By doing my lake preporatoin now I see that the water is extremely deep and the good stuff is off limits for my tournament (up in the river) and everything on the main lake is CLEAR I have been told... Looking at airials I see docks all over the place but the best thing we can do is eliminate docks that aren't producing and this is going to be hard as well from what we can tell most of them are floating... Is there anything else that we should be looking for? I figure maybe by then they will have moved up and chasing shad but you never know... We don't get to prefish for the tournament because of rules but we are trying to do as much preperation as possible... Anything would be of help guys I appreciate it in advance...

Re: Lake of the Ozarks
Are you fishing the "Big Bass Bash"? If not you need to be prepared for a HUGE crowd on the water if its the same weekend as yours. They will have over 1200 anglers, from past numbers since this is a $180K guaranteed prize pot, in this event. Just thought I would throw that our there for your consideration. I will try and find something more out if I can from some friends that live that way and if I do I will PM you. Good luck.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks
THe dock fishing will be what you need to key on that time of year.90% of the docks on this lake has brush piles around them.Get a good topo map of the lake and study it to find the major feeder creeks and find where the creek channels swing in close to these docks. That will be the key.The lake is really deep, but still the creek channels will be the key.The fish suspend on these floating docks over the brush.Flipping jigs in green pumpkin, suspending jerk baits in a shad pattern, and spinner baits will be good bait choices.I hope this helps and let me know how you do.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks
Thank you all very much for the information... I am looking forward to this tournament very much... Seems like I should be hitting it in its prime but so will everyone else!!! The Stren Series is there as well... We are fishing an FLW tournament I am not is the Bash but sounds like fun!!! There are going to be a lot of sore fish!!!! I just hope we can put together a limit and I will be happy with our finish... Seems like we will be last in line at most of the spots if the fish aren't already all sore lipped... I am going to continue to look for some information and check out some different maps... Once again thanks guys the help is greatly appreciated...
