KY Lake Water levels in Late October?
I'm going to KY Lake on October 22nd-24th.Last year the water levels were almost dangerously low,we couldnt even put in at Moor's.My question is this a normal event or was it unusual to have such low water conditions?I'm not asking anyone to predict the weather or water levels just for a little experienced input.
Re: KY Lake Water levels in Late October?
That's normal for KY Lake. It's a flood control lake and is at or near winter pool at the end of October. You will have the same conditions this year so please be careful and stay inside the channel markers when on plane. If you have to get out of the channel then trim the motor up and idle. It can go from 10 feet to 6 inches in the blink of an eye. BTW, the fishing should be off the hook good at the end of October. Have fun!

Boringly normal and we all hate it!!!! It is dangerous at best and I live on the lake, yesterday I was in 30ft and wind drifted 5-6ft and heard the thump of my skeg dragging - when i looked down the front of the boat was in 17' and the back in 1.5',
yet that is normal, be careful, know what the bouy colors are and know how to use them! If you do know - GREAT, but please if you don't please please ask someone!!!

The fishing was good last year at that time, that's why we want to go back. Thanks for the info,at least we know what were up against.
