Bummer Saturday!
Got up at 5:30 and got ready to go squirrel hunting. Opened the door and the wind blew my hat off. I was thinking Ill go to the lake instead and try my luck catchin some bluegill, got a tree full of cataphle(spelling) worms. I realized I loaned my boat to my buddy when it wasnt there. Thought about going to the pond and looked out when it got daylight and the deep end is covered in moss! Thought I would watch an old western at 6:00 but bye the time I got into that my 6yr old got up and has watched timmy turner ever since. The only person in this house enjoying a Saturday morning is my wife! I done fed the kid, made me and her an omlet and shes still asleep and I have to wait until 3:00 for the UL-UK game. Hope everyone else is enjoying their Saturday.:) If UL looses the game it will be my worst Saturday in a loooong time. Think Ill ask the kid if he wants to throw a baseball around so maybe not a total loss.:)

It is your best day so count your blessings AND foiled plans and thank God for each one.
God is sometimes protecting us when we just think nothing is working out. My experience almost two years ago was that I couldn't get things together for a trip I was taking to visit my brother. I spent three days waffling back and forth on which day I would leave. Finally when I decided to leave on Sunday, I packed the car on Saturday afternoon for an early morning departure but forgot to set the clock. When I awoke the day was half gone and I threw up my hands in frustration and swore I would go the next day. Late Sunday night I got that chilling call that everyone dreads; my brother had just been killed in an auto accident. If my plan had come together, I would have been in the car with him and most likely would have died also.
"In everything give thanks."

Unless you're in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the UK v. UL game is at Noon (not 3PM).
Just trying to keep you from being even more bummed.

Re: Bummer Saturday!
I agree with you 100 percent Bug, when things don't go as planned, thank God for it and make the best of it because we may never know what may have happened if the delay or problem hadn't occured. Like your experience, sometimes we do find out though.
In November 1959, I was going home on leave from Okinawa. This was in the days before jet airlines and the prop planes made the cross ocean trip in stages with stops for refueling and rest, e.g. Okinawa to Tokyo to Wake Island, to Hawaii, to San Francisco.
I caught the plane from Okinawa to Tokyo fine but when I got to Tokyo, 13 of us got bumped off that flight to make room for a bunch of priority travelers. We had to spend the night at Tachikawa Airbase and catch the flight 24 hours later. We all groused and moaned about being the "unlucky 13', but as it turned out we were really the "Lucky 13".
Twenty-four hours later, we resumed our travel, stopped at Wake island and then made it on to Hickum Airbase, Hawaii. When we got in the terminal in Hawaii, someone noticed the newspaper headline about an airplane that was still missing and all passangers were presumed lost at sea. Yep, it was the same flight we had gotten bumped off of.
Since I am cronologically enhanced, I could cite several more examples, but none as clear or dramatic as this one.
