Kentucky River
Just wondering if anyone thinks the river will be cleared out enough to fish this weekend. Fishing in the Cops for Kids Tourney and really hope it is not up and running hard for the tourney. I don't care if the water is stained but muddy and a strong current can be tough on the river.

Re: Kentucky River
The KY is dropping but very muddy at Highbridge. It will take a few days for it to clear up some. The power plant is running the Dix right now so only trout found there right now.

I was going to fish that tourney but UK football and an out of town guest took care of that. Earlier this summer when that section was up I did pretty well fishing shallow cranks in fire tiger next to eddies while bringing the lure with the current. Also the few places where the creeks have piled up rocks into the river were pretty good when the water was up, especially downstream from the ramp. The river should come down pretty fast this time of year but it should still be stained. Just slow down the lure and bump any cover you see with the crank. IF it clears up, all bets are off and the fish usually are pretty tough to find this time of year until the water gets into the 60s.
Good luck!
