I was wondering what Hybrids due come fall and into winter? Specifically at BRL? Do they act like their striper half and head up the creeks after shad all winter long, busting on topwater jumps? Or do they act differently? Should I still target them around the islands like during the summer, or do they move somewhere else? Any info/advice would be appreciated thanks.

My buddy had one get tangled in his decoy line when duck hunting out there in January. It had a shad rap in its mouth and the hook hung the line. Maybe you should try jugging with mallard decoys? Thats the only winter hybrid report that I know of out there.
I've had luck in the creeks and on the hump right outside Axtel at Rough in late fall and early spring. I ususally just drift large minnows about 12 ' and when I hit a school it's mayhem!

Thanks for the response, I have always wondered if Hybrids acted like their cousins the striper during the winter months. I imagined that they would follow the bait up into the creeks. Looking to target them some this winter. Thanks again.

Rich, read the T-ville thread and pack your truck now. Yesterday was slow, but steady. Today would be perfect, wish I did'nt have to work. Rain forcasts may keep the lake high and extend the run for a week or so. Blue Fox#2 w/ white bucktail, Little George, Rattlin' Rogue...if all else fails, live line chubs. It's on.

We do well on the Ohio River for them at the warm water discharge at Gallagher Station.Its kinda dangerous fishing because of the barges that unload coal there. You have to anchor by those big metal pylons and throw your bait in the warm water .It is freaky becasue when it's cold out the water will have fog on it where the warm water comes in .We almost always catch a smallie there too .The shad really stack up there .Dec is when it gets really good ..Then in late Feb you can catch hybrids in the mouth of siver creek
