Barren 11/07 Report
Took the Wife and daughter out for some quality family fishing time on Saturday. Got to the lake, and saw white caps. The wind was howling! None the less, we headed out. Went straight back to my honey holes only to find five boats parked all around them. :( Oh well, time to find new holes I guess. Got out of the wind in a little cove with some boat docks and let the daughter tear up some blue gills, good size ones too. She had a blast. We then picked up anchor and shot over to Peter Creek and hit some coves off of it. Had really good success in one of the coves catching a dozen or so with two keepers (2.5lb and 3.2lb). They were liking a 8" watermelon/red worm T-rigged and dragged slowly. They were relating to the same structure as before, any verticle structure in 7+ft...secondary points. Tried cranks with only a couple shorties, buzzbait produced nothing and neither did a spinnerbait. Water temp was 59.5 with good clarity. Wind was a killer though, hard to fish. Ok though since it was good quality time with the fam. I will hit it solo this next week and try up the barren river, heard the bass are hitting up in there.

Re: Barren 11/07 Report
Hey Rich,
I will be on the water Friday and Saturday. I have a procraft, burgandy and black with gold lettering. I plan on putting in at Beaver Creek unless the water is too low, then probably the narrows. If you want, we can compare notes.. I fished Friday and saturday about 3 hours per day. Did ok Friday with 5 in the boat and unbuttoned four on the way to the boat. I cought all my fish Friday on a tube. They were all under 15 inches. Saturday as you mentioned was very windy. Found areas on the leeward side of hills and caught 6 on a fire tiger crank bait,,fat A. Good luck this weekend! Ed

Fast-
Sounds good. I should be up there probably this Thurs or Fri, maybe both.:D I'm in an VIP 17.5ft white with blue/black stripe with a black outboard, I'm the big guy on the front. Say hi if you see me and I'll do the same. I'll let ya know how I do. I plan on heading a new direction and going up the river. I did have some good luck right at the mouth of Peter on secondary points. Hopefully it won't be as windy as last Saturday, that was tough. Good luck.

Re: Barren 11/07 Report
Hey Rich I was down Friday and cought about 40 bass with the biggest being about 4pds and the rest from 12-14" all on shallow crank. Found two schools where if I made the right cast parallel to the bank I would get bit. Saturday sucked with the white caps everywhere. Only managed seven bass with one keeper. I headed home Sunday without fishing because my partner had to get to work, it was probably the best day of the weekend and I missed out.

Really, nice! What part of the lake was this? Any specific type of bank that you found them at the most? Mainlake, primaries, secondaries? Just interested, sounds like you had a killer day on Friday. I haven't caughten 40 bass in one day at Barren ever! Way to go!
