I was looking on MapQuest at Benson creek off the Kentucky river, and it looks like a ramp up in Benson, off Benson Valley rd. my question, is that a public ramp and parking area ? thanks in advance

That is a very good ramp. No wake in the creek makes it really easy to load/unload. The ramp is not too steep, not too shallow. You can troll upstream in the creek about 1/2 mile to the first rapid but be carefull if you do as there can be downed submirged trees and shallow off main channel. I usually kick my motor up and just use my trolling motor up there. The state has installed a lot of new ramps. There is also a new one in the pool below lock 4 and a public ramp on Elkhorn creek in Stamping Ground above the dam. Again the entire age navigatable in elkhorn creek is all no wake.
