Re: Bow fishing questions
Any bow will work. I prefer a recurve. Min. draw of 40lbs., Solid fiberglass arrows, special "fish head" (retractable head), Aim low( the further the shot, the further under your target you aim). Targets will be mostly carp and gar around Ky. I shoot from the front deck of my bass boat.
Re: Bow fishing questions
bow fishin is awesome even more on small waters . summer time for carp is great. Compound bow is fine about 40lbs and go to bass pro buy a starter kit, have fun
Re: Bow fishing questions
Don't do it if you are not prepared for another "bad" habit. Take a look at the womens/youth bows in the archerytalk.com classifieds. Great place to get a nice low poundage bow for bowfishing. Go ahead and get the AMS reel. It will save you aggravation(and money) down the road. I also like the bowfishing WB for the rest. I think safety slides are a must. Please note that I warned you- it is TERRIBLY habit forming and a great deal of fun can be had so please............ PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Bow fishing questions
Agree with others, you must have a low poundage bow. I would suggest to try and get with an someone that has a boat that is set up for bow fishing and try some different bows to see what works best for u.
Re: Bow fishing questions
So do fish live after shot?.....I doubt it, so What does anyone do with the dead carp?
