Re: Cold Weather Motor Care
I fish all winter I have a 200hp Merc, every thing is about the same, just make sure that you trim the motor all the way down as fair as it will go to get all the water out, just let it drain wile you take care of everything else, what size boat and motor do you have? if you have cable steering sometimes the cables will freeze, you can take lake water and pour them at the motor or get 12v heat wrap and turn it on just you put in , hope this helps

Re: Cold Weather Motor Care
The boat is a 17 ft Crestliner bass boat. I do not think there will be problems with the steering cables. Thanks for the input.
Re: Cold Weather Motor Care
I know this may be obvious, but always treat your line with either Stabil or Heet to keep from freezing. I also bought my first boat this year and had wondered the same thing. I used Heet in my fuel and I try and start my boat up once in awhile to let it run some. It is going to get REAL cold here soon, I'm a little worried about it. Good luck.
