I use the Spike-It chartreuse religiously. Careful, too much is not a good thing. Try for more subtle looks by not using very much of it. I also use the red and the orange, depending on what season it is to make my craws look more realistic.
The only downside to this stuff is if you buy the container, it is easy to spill and is kind of messy. You really have to be careful with it. It also looses its potency (gets weak) when you only have a little left. It contains acetone, which will evaporate over time. If you get it on your clothes you know have a permanent spot. Boat carpet is the same way. It will come out of gelcoat however, with some time. If you get it on your hands, expect a spot to be there for a day or so. I spilled a drop of it on my rod about a year ago and there is still a chartreuse spot the size of a dime where it made contact. Also, be careful about putting your bait in its hook keeper -- it can stain some finishes on reels and will definitely color the cork on your rod. I would say the best bet are the markers for cleanliness.
Overall, great stuff when handled properly.
spike it. Dont get the blue though, turns every thing black and doesnt show up on black.
I use JJ's Magic. Best stuff I've ever use! Doesn't wash off the scent.

I use spike it. I carry 4 colors with me in a small box used for spinnerbaits with the hangers in them. I just don't use the hangers but leave them in to divide the jars and any other paint or scent. Black is my favorite.
I use the SpikeIt markers. They usually come with 2 colors. I wrap a paper towel around the marker and keep it in a ziplock bag. I don't dye lures until I'm ready to throw them in the water and use the paper towel to set the lure on so I don't dye the boat carpet or seat.
Spike It, I use chartruese and lime. I also use a Spike It markers to in Orange and chartruese. Sometimes I get fancy and go with multiple colors. I even like to dye pork rind sometimes.
Garlic scent
i might just try some. thx
Another thing.... be careful because I thought I would be smart and pour my old almost empty black spike it into my 3/4 full newer jar.....well I found out that 3/4 + 1/2 equals a big mess!! I had black die on my hands for days! Looked like I had a skin disorder...haha.
Ditto on the markers. The chartrueuse on jig trailers is awesome. After you mark your bait it may be hard to tell the difference, especially on a green or brown color, but once you put it in the water you can definitely tell the difference. It's made a world of difference on my catch rate. I guess sometimes the bass just need that little bit extra to make them bite.
i like the spike it markers to but if i dont have any handey you can also use a sharpey marker they work just as good and just cover the bait with bang garlic spray. i will go as far as coloring my pinchers on my trailers red or orange depending on time of year and color the tips black so it looks more like a real crawdad. might not make a difference but as long as i think it does and i am catching fish then to me it makes a difference. ;)
I use spike it on about everything. Usually just Char. but I will use the red some too. I would be careful over boat carpet, but I have spilled it several times, or had it spilled. It will usually dry up and go away if you set it in direct sun for a day. They sell a neutralizer now, that is supposed to make it go away instantly. However, time usually does the trick. I still haven't found what gets it off of your skin other than time. I had yellow hands for about a week a few summers ago.
I did something similar as DJD - I found a tupperwar square container that I can fit about 6 in (although I usally only carry a couple. It is deep enough for the bottles to stay in upright, so I just leave them in the tupperware when dipping. I don't have to worry about spills as much this way, and is a little more stable on the deck or your lap while you dip it.
