Another knot thread
Rather than see Bob's thread get diverted into a discussion on fishing knots, I thought I'd start a whole new one.
Sounds like some good advice on this problem. Another question. If I go to a braid line and want to use a leader, what kind of knot is the best to connect my leader to the braid? Something that will hold without me worrying about it.
Thanks
I don't remember who first posted this, but here's a link to the best fishing knot site on the web: http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php
If you're talking about attaching a leader using a barrel swivel (which is how I do it), I'd go with the Palomar knot every time. You can use it on both ends of the swivel, provided you tie it to the leader first. If you're talking about using some mono or other line as a backing (a good way to save $$ on braid), I'd use the "Uni-to-Uni" knot. Tying the Uni knot itself is described at the link above, but tying the Uni-to-Uni knot, or "Double Uni," isn't. Here's a site where they explain that:

Tight lines!

Re: Another knot thread
That is a good site ! I use it sometimes when the Old Timers kicks in on a knot that I have not tied in a while! BTW, I love the Palomar !
