with 8 inches of snow, and no longer having a 4x4 I'm house bound. Got out the dremel and worked on my hooks, a wire brush works well to tone up the points. Got 250 new crappie tubes from cabelas yesterday. this fishin itch is really bad. Tying dual jig rigs, while there is time and adequite light.
Its killing me too. I dont think Ive ever been so down as this winter...
Been tying football jigs most of the morning. I dont think my reels can handle any more grease or oil. Ive destroyed several new packs of craws just experimenting them as trailers in the sink. Organized, reorganized all my tackel. Lord this aint normal...
I have to admit I'm not that big on jig fishing down here, but that is going to change this year. Used a lot of them up north for LMB, and walleyes. I use mostly tubes and chompers here. The dual rigs on tubes can be a lot of fun sometimes, it gives you plenty of weight to make long casts while far off shore for spotted bass, and SMB dont mind them either. But they are great for finding crappie in deeper water. almost thinking of heading down to sinclair in Ga for some crappie and wipers.But when ever I go there early in the spring I bring cold weather with me, can't win for losing.
I have fishing fever so bad I spray painted circles on my concrete basement floor to brush up on my pitching and flippin. Even used my 4 year olds plastic work bench to represent a dock to flip under. My wife thinks I'm crazy.
I thought I was ate up. You guys are cracking me up. It may be warm enough to fish next week. Spring is around the corner.
My ping pong table is the perfect makeshift dock to practice flippin under. I guess I have it bad also:)
Febraury has always been the hardest month for me :( This year has been no exception...in fact, it's been worse than ever since I finally bought a worthy boat last fall and it is just sitting there mocking me! I've done all the modifications in the world to that boat trying to calm the voices in my head! :rolleyes:
Oh, by the way, I can now pitch into a paper cup from 50ft across the room, lol! :D
