Shed hunting time is drawing near
Bout time here over the next couple of weeks fellas to start shed hunting. Great exercise and fun to find them. It also gives you alot of insight as to what made it through season and in what areas they are staying in.
Alot of fun and educational, get out there and find some.

Re: Shed hunting time is drawing near
Thanks for the info. Yea it's still a little early but some of them bigguns fall off first especially during a cold winter like we are having.
Re: Shed hunting time is drawing near
Was seeing bucks that had already dropped their antlers during first week of January here in southern Indiana which was the last week of late bow season.
Re: Shed hunting time is drawing near
Went for my first shed hunt yesterday. I found one small four point left side. A very long walk and found only one. Stll early yet, I also found the largest dead Doe Carcass that I have ever seen in my life. Looked like she had been down only a couple of days as the coyotes were still picking her clean. This has to be the biggest Doe I've ever seen, she must have died from old age. Feet, spine. rib cage, head looked like that of a decent sized buck, incredible. Very long deer as well, wish I could have seen this old girl alive.

Saw bucks around New Years without headgear and talked to a few diehard bowhunters that had seen the same thing. There is a lot of bone on the ground right now!

Re: Shed hunting time is drawing near
hunted in Atturbury on Dec. 30th and they had bucks checked in with there antlers shed. So cold I bet squakkers are eat'n up.... Can't keep squirrels out of the deer feeder this year. Didn't have this issue last year?! Some but not like this.
