Anyone been to Turtle Creek Lately
Since I'm not doing Guntersville this weekend........Embrey and I are thinking of getting up bright and early and driving to turtle creek tomorrow.
I've not been there in a few years, but think it could be worth the trip to try it out again.
There were some reports a few weeks ago.............
If anyone has any info, that would be great....
Thanks,
Geo
Re: Anyone been to Turtle Creek Lately
Went there twice this year when we could fish the hot water only and caught some bass. I fished by myself the first time and had 2 nice fat bass but not in the 20" range. Talked to two young men from Indy and they had caughe 4 bass with 3 in the 5lb range. The second trip a week later I never caught any bass, but the same 2 fisherman where there again and they had 2 bass. Didn't say what size. I was getting into the day and for some unknown my battery went kaput. Wallmart brand group 29, warrenty still good. If you go there take a little time and talk to the guard. They are trying to make a good fishing lake by restalking nice size bass,

Re: Anyone been to Turtle Creek Lately
I think I am heading to Turtle here in March. Did they say for sure if they are going to restock it with bass, and did the guard say what size exactly?
Re: Anyone been to Turtle Creek Lately
The guard told me 2 years ago the put in several 1 to 1 1/2 lb bass and they are still there. then the next year whoever was in charge put in fingerling bass, they were food for the catfish. Also there is a survey group from Ill. keeping track of the fish. Per them there are no crappie or gills in their because they can't spawn the carp keep eating the eggs.
Look up the phone no. at Turtle Creek Reservoir and talk to the guard.
