Re: Line for Jerkbaiting????
I'm certainly no expert on this, but I have been using 14# fireline with a 6 foot fluro leader. I use a uni-knot to uni-knot to contect the two lines. Leader is around 6 foot long. I also use a snap (no swivel, just snap) on the line. Allows the plug more freedom of movement and I can switch them out pretty quick if I need too.

Re: Line for Jerkbaiting????
I know they all have their applications and some are better for certain methods. I was reading a previous post about cranking trying to understand the applications, but when applying it to Jerkbaits, which type of line is best? Mono floats, Flouro has less visibility (which is important cause most of the productive jerkbait bites are when fishing clear water conditions), Braid has no stretch, Braid with a mono leader? If so, what knot do you use for the leader? AAAAHhhh, what decisions, and women think they have it rough with make up colors.....:) They outta try matchin the hatch and the presentation.
Just an opinion, but my choice for a jerkbait is Flourocarbon, reason being, Flouro will sink in the water giving the jerkbait a more realistic action, by this I mean, the nose of the jerkbait will be level to slightly pointed down, with Mono, the nose of the jerkbait will point upwards because Mono floats.
I light using Spinning Tackle with my Jerkbaits, however, I am still having trouble with it balloning off, getting loops and other problems, with that being said, I am looking for suggestions on Flourocarbon with Spinning Reel, Brand, Test Size etc.
Thanks
BK

BPS Flouro is a good line....doesn't balloon off like you mentioned. I use 6 -10 lb. test on my spinning reels. 6 is the most manageable with finesse tactics. Line conditioner is a big plus!
