Heard a rumor that Barren will no longer stock hybrid's due to a new type of shad that they will not eat, but will stock with walleye instead. Is this true?
Have not heard the rumor, but I do know they stocked walleye several times many years ago and they never seemed to do well at all in the lake. Walleye are native to Barren River, but apparently do not like the lake or people just do not know how to fish for them.
I surely do not know what type of shad hybrids wouldn't eat. Seems I heard about native walleye being stocked in the river, but the hybrid fishery seems too good to give up on.
Sounds like just that....a rumor. Barren is one of the best hybrid fisheries around, doubt they would call it quits. IMO.

I do not think that that is true. They like my RED FINs just fine.
