Insurance
Just wondering who y'all did your insurance through. Our boats a little older, an '87 ProCraft. And was wondering who the was the best to go through with an older boat. Not looking for any premium coverage. Progressive quote looked a little high to me. I didn't think it would cost very much to insure an older boat.

Re: Insurance
If you do get insurance make sure you keep it on the boat al year as folks who insure for only the summer fall into the Insurance trap called short rate. I sold a boat in 06, bought a new one less than 30 days later and the Insurance company short rated me.
Cost me over 150 dollars for that.

Re: Insurance
Well, nevermind. I knocked some options off to just get liability and it was about $8 a month.
Thanks, Jbasser, I am doing the full year.

Re: Insurance
I have Progressive on my boat.
I work there too.. I don't have them for anything else just my boat. They are the best for boat ins. in my opinion.
Know what your buying before you purchase it.. If you have scenario questions about what is covered for a loss, ask me and I will try to let you know. Agent's can't always tell you but I work in claims and can probably lead you down the right path. (good, bad , or indifferent)

Re: Insurance
Allstate-100 bucks a year, and covers more than boat and motor are worth.

Re: Insurance
My girlfriend works at State Farm Insurance. My boat costs me about $11 a month, it's worth about $3500, and that is what I have it insured for. You should call her office. Her office number is 502-425-4101, her name is Ashley.

I have STATE Farm.
I have my boat insured for replacement, and 3500 for stuff inside the boat. Anything not BOLTED down is generally not covered by your insurance, and for 40-50 bucks a year for the extra coverage, it is WELL WORTH IT.
I've used it a couple times......ONLY had to provide proof of what was stolen, and that wasn't too hard.
Later,
