Re: White Bass/ Hybrid Run
They'll start staging at the mouths of creeks when the water temp reaches 50 degrees and will begin the actual runs when the temps are around 55. I agree there is not much more fun than a school of whites. I'm sure a school of hybrids would be the one thing to it but I've never had that luck yet.
Re: White Bass/ Hybrid Run
It seems like I always have the best luck fishing for White Bass right around turkey season. Sometimes the week before, during, or after. Just have to be at the right place at the right time.

I always catch a few after a morning turkey hunt.;)
Re: White Bass/ Hybrid Run
Love the White run! Fished it for the first time last year, and we hit it a little early, but we still caught a bunch of fatties! Looking to hit it again this next Thursday with an old crippled friend of mine (lol! :D). Hopefully the males will already be back in the creeks with the females staging or just moving. We'll have to see, still a little early.

Re: White Bass/ Hybrid Run
Just keep an eye on the wild dogwood trees. When they start to bloom the run will be starting, when dogwoods are in full bloom the run will be at its peak. I know this sounds like a wives tale but it does work.
Re: White Bass/ Hybrid Run
When the Dog Woods in bloom you need to be fishing period !!!Crappie should be biting good then as well
Re: White Bass/ Hybrid Run
If you have a bad year or two on white bass don't give up. These fish are known throughout their range to have poor year classes from time to time which may affect the fishing. There's a good chance that if you keep after 'em the next couple years, your fishin will improve.
