Dale Hollow Crappie in March
I went to Dale yesterday and went up the wolf river channel to the last deep water before it shallowed up near the spring spawning areas and fished the edges and areas around them. we only caught 6 crappie but what bothered me was that i didn't graph many fish or bait fish at all from the headwater all the way out to the dock. does anyone know what is going on at Dale in March that makes it so different from other lakes when it comes to the crappie behavior? If anyone out there can take me and show me how to catch crappie, this time of the year on Dale, not in April, i will make it worth your time.
Re: Dale Hollow Crappie in March
If you cant find the fish in the brush, it a good bet with the water tem still this cool that there suspended 15 to 45 feet down, when the fish are doing this its best to use a spider rig with as many rods as you can, at different depths until you catch a couple then go two that range only. Dale can be very tuff when the water is in the low 40's. I dont fish a whole lot untill the water warms up a little 55-60 degrees, load boat days, but the spider rig works in cold water when fish are suspened.
