Buy American Clause (Chubminnow)
Tim (Chubminnow) this is for you! The WWTP (waste water treatment plant) project I'm working on has a clause that states "In accordance with section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009..blah blah blah...and then it gets to mandate only using iron, steel and manufactured goods produced in the USA for this project. I never read that before and I was using American manufactured goods anyway..:)
You can get a waiver from the EPA or because of international agreements.
Just thought it was interesting....

This is a good thing to know! Now...I hope the project manager(s) and/or construction manager(s) makes sure that what is specified actually gets to the job site. Not saying YOU would do anything but provide what the specs say....but lots of times things get passed through with no one noticing the spec wasn't being met. Apples for Apples :)

While "Buy American" is in the subject matter of this thread...I was bummed out about a week ago to find out that my local Chevy dealer is losing their franchise. They've been in the same spot since at least the 60's, maybe longer.

The Generator company already had to change a few things to meet this spec. I'm submitting a product that is mostly assembled in California (kinda american I guess..more alien IMO:p) but the parts are imported. The plastic molds for the electronics are made in the USA but with most electronics your hands are tied!
