Green River Lake
Hey all, I will be heading down to Green River Lake from Indy this Saturday (3/27) for some bass fishin with my Father. We will be staying at Holmes Bend. I plan on checking out the weigh ins from the tournies that will be going on, on the 27th. This will be my first time on the lake. Any help you can give me on what to look for would be greatly appreciated. Anyone know the water temp and clarity right now, that would get me started. Thanks!!

Re: Green River Lake
That's a loaded question this time of the year. Check out the other thread on the board titled Green River Temps. If I had to guess and depending on the weather and rainfall of course, from HB I would hang a right and go up toward the headwaters to start with. There is usually some excellent fishing up that way in the spring. With the cool weather forecast for this week and not enough precip to raise the river up much it might not be ready to turn on up there yet. I'd start looking shallow and work my way deeper, usually you can intercept fish somewhere as the day progresses.

Re: Green River Lake
the water is still low so be careful if you head up the river.there will be a ton of boats up there sat. so you'll have to be carefull not to get a redeye shad hooked in the back of your head(thanks to KVD everyone has 2 or 3 tied on)but that'll be the place to start.

Re: Green River Lake
I`ve got to go down to green on thursday morning to measure a houseboat to carpet. Thinking of takeing the boat along,,,hey if I`m going to be close to water,,,dang it,,,i`ll wet a line somehow,,so if i`m spendin gthe gas to go,,don`t take that much more with the boat. But I`ll be at the lower end,,I`ll find fish, just got to figure them out.

If you do get to fish when your here would you mind posting results, especially smallies? Good luck.

Na I'm fishing Renegade this year.....and yes they are having an open tournament this weekend and FOM is also having a tournament....will be a packed house out there

Re: Green River Lake
I didn't know FOM was going to be fishing this weekend. I might hold off on Saturday myself and wait for calmer seas on Sunday or even Monday after work. I'll might go a few hours this Thursday afternoon too, I sure won't catch anything sitting in the recliner. Thanks for the info and good luck fishing Renegade.
