Camping/Fishing @ Cumberland
Guys, I need your help and opinions... My 18 yr old nephew and 3 of his friends are going to Lake Cumberland next week/weekend. He's asking me about hiring a stiper guide for 1 day and where to tent camp& bank fish. Can anyone lead me in a good direction so I can give him some good info.
Thanks!
Re: Camping/Fishing @ Cumberland
You will be hard pressed to find a better guide than Lance Sasser, but on such short notice I'm sure he's booked up. Bates has a good service and has now merged with another outfit down there they may have an opening since they are large. Right now with the lake being low there are countless places to pitch a tent. Right at the mouth confluence of Beaver and Otter creek on your left going in is some really nice spots for bank fishing and camping. Also an Island back in Otter on top of the Island is a sweet spot. You climb up a path to get to the top but for young fellars should be a piece of cake. I assume they have a boat, if not it really limits them on where they can camp just from drive access.
They could camp below the dam at Kendall, and fish the river. Nice camp sites, with nice ammenities.

Kendall below the dam. This is one of the best camping areas on Cumberland
Re: Camping/Fishing @ Cumberland
Conley bottom has a great camp ground and several guides go out of there. Call the marina and they can help you with a guide.
