New Salt River ramp in Shepherdsville
Just found a new ramp behind paraquet springs conference center. I have went by the last two nights and it was packed with boats both times. Some real nice boats that I wouldnt think you would put into the salt river. Isnt it to shallow? I am curious about the ramp if there are any fees, and if people are catching any fish. Thanks.

Wondering the same thing, was just told about that ramp today. Talked to someone that caught a five pound smallie along with 8 little crappie.

there goes the fishin hole!
Re: New Salt River ramp in Shepherdsville
You can run a good sized boat from the ramp all the way up to the river bottoms before it gets to shallow. You cannot go very far downstream of the ramp.
I live acorss the river from the ramp and if I was you guys I wouldn't waste my time fishing it. It is just not any good! :-)

I heard the ramp fee is $3. Don't quote me on that though.

This is where I want to say it is $15 but I cannot do it with a straight face. There is no fee to launch, as of now.
Re: New Salt River ramp in Shepherdsville
fished the salt for the first time in about 8 yrs caught 5lb channel cat and a white bass water was dropping, about 54 deg, saw about 5 boats on the river that day more traffic than I would have guessed ran about 5 or 6 miles of the river, has changed alot since last time I ran it, if you go, go slow alot of under water wood.
Re: New Salt River ramp in Shepherdsville
Thanks!! I have waded the salt a few times down from the 44 bridge where it is shallow and have caught 8 different species of fish with some really good smallmouth. I can't wait to put my bout in and see how it is down the river. thanks for the responses and I will post when I go. Ohh and I looked at the KDFW website and there is no fee.

Did this rain bring Salt river up to much to safely launch a boat today? Was thinking about going for a few hours this afternoon.
Thanks
