Re: wife wants to go fishing
If you never want her to go again take her to Guist Creek and she will probably not get a bite. There is a lot of bank fishing at Long Run Park on the East end. I have caught a bunch of bluegill and small bass there. Of course there is McNeely lake closer to the South end.
Re: wife wants to go fishing
My suggestion, would be fishermans park, but not untill they put the trout in there. Should be the second week of April. Take your picnic and 50 minnows. Fish under floats, and you should have pretty good action.
Re: wife wants to go fishing
A nice family place Lake Jericho, Exit 28 off 71, any way its the next exit past the LaGrange exit. Turn Rt. at the bottom of ramp thru the flashing lights (stop of course) and turn left next rd. Its only about a mile from the interstate. Big sign. Banks are mowed and most important you can see the kid's because of lack of growth, tree's etc. Picnic tables and also a playground for the kid's.:)
Re: wife wants to go fishing
They've stocked Watterson Lake, Tom Wallace, and Waverly with catfish a few weeks ago. They won't stock them with trout until the 13th. And at least with the cats, you only need a regular license and not a trout stamp to go with it.

That is a lame answer. The guy asked where to take his wife fishing, not what he could do to keep her from going with him again. Why would he not want his own wife to go fishing with him? I go with my husband and there have been numerous times I was the one who caught the fish. We went one time and he caught a 4 pound catfish and I didn't catch but 2....one weighed 17 pounds and the other 20 pounds.
If his wife is sweet enough to love him and have his children, she's just right to be his lover and fishing companion; both can happen on a fishing trip.
Re: wife wants to go fishing
I agree! Some of us women cant fish worth a ****!!! And I'm right there, I havent gotten a **** thing. And my ol man is wearin' em' out! And some days in the boat I get hung up more then I fish.... I'm sure it drives him crazy but he never complains
but it's about the time we spend together!!
Always always take ur woman fishin' even if she just goes and reads the paper!
Re: wife wants to go fishing
I hope you had a nice day fishing. There are a number of lakes around the state, several of which are in Louisville, known as "FINS" (Fishing In Neighborhoods") Lakes, and they're great for just relaxing at a local park with a line in the water.

Waverly is the only one around Louisville that they've stocked with trout so far this year. I was there last week and caught one fingerling bass on a minnow, but nothing else. Then on the way out I saw a guy with almost a limit of trout that he'd caught using corn fished right off the bottom. But I think the nicest one close to the south end has got to be Tom Wallace Lake. It'll get stocked with trout April 13th. At ANY of these lakes, for the first few weeks after they put the trout in, it's usually pretty easy to catch a limit (5). The regs are different from the statewide ones, so be sure to check them out.
You've probably seen how they're renovating the frisbee golf course at Iroquois Park? As part of that, they're going to restore the lake and start stocking it. I'm looking forward to that. I've always loved that park!
