Tuesday will be my First Striper trip on Lake Cumberland this year!!!

Thanks to all the the Cumberland Guides who post reports. Means a lot to those of us who don't have the opportunity to get on the lake each week. If all goes well, I'll be on the water this week, FIRST time since last November, with boards out on each side, up in the creeks, trolling shiners (sorry :( no live shad available:mad:) from from 0 to 15 feet deep.

Looking for that 20 Lb plus fish:D:D:D

Hey Boone, its good to see you are still pulling the boards. I am going to try to get down sometime this month to see if I can get one on the line. Good luck and enjoy the weather. It is hard to be inside with this kind of weather.

Well, got off to a late start :mad:. Wanted to be on the water and on station before first light (first light is ~ 5:45 am and that's prime time). Anyway, got on station (up in the creek) by 7:00 am and put out 6 boards. Note, when you are by yourself, that can take awhile...(heavy breathing :eek:). Had boards out with flat line on outer board, then 1 oz weighs at 10 ft and 25 feet on other boards. Water temperature 60/61 deg. up in the creeks. Water lime green....looks like the alge is in bloom!

The report: 8:00 am first fish :D (only fish :(), outer board, flat line just of the bank. No monster, but about 25.5 inches. But what a fight that fish had in em. Nothing like those I was catching last summer/fall when they were so stressed out due to low oxygen levels in the lake.

So, first Striper outing of 2010 and NO STINK on the boat and FISH IN THE FRIDG. Thinking I just might try in again this week ;).

Good report Boone and I am glad to see you didnt get any stink on your boat. I am hoping to get back down there in a couple of weeks. I know there is a big one waiting for me up one of them there creeks.

Good luck and hope you catch a MONSTER. I'll be in touch later, if I can get a LOCK on the STRIPER PATTERN THIS WEEK. If so, are you/brother available to striper fish this weekend?

Michael, then, that's a plan......unless something changes and I start blanking out Stripers:eek::eek:. From good reports and sources, they are still up in the creeks, problem is some of those creeks run for 3-5 miles up from the main lake, plus some fish are being caught on the main lake. For me, still looking for the pattern/shad balls :confused:. Didn't find it today:o. Just scatted bait and fish, but as I said earler, I was late getting on the lake.
