Barren River
Went to Barren on Wednesday and got skunked. I caught a striper and a littel rock bass on a finesse jig, and thats it. Water was 8 feet below summer pool and rising (lots of debris so be careful running) and temps ranged from 65-73 during the day.
I tried everything. Points, creek edges, flats, timber, laydowns, even steep rock walls that transitioned to points then to shallow flats protected from wind with shade... a prespawn bass shngarila and nothing...
Tried buzzbaits in teh morning shallow, thired Big and little jigs, crank baits, ratltraps, spinners, Jerkbaits...even a shadilicious swim bait... nada
Have you guys tried anything that worked??? Are they on teh beds already?? Wanting to go back in a week or two and need a game plan...otherwise im trying nolin instead..

Re: Barren River
Fished for hybrids Friday night. Used cranks and caught several 3-6 lbers, no real big ones. Wind made it hard to fish. Saw a boat landing them left and right using shad. Water temp 71.
