Spoon at Barkley?
I've read many articles that reads "flutter spoons and KY Lake" in the same sentence so I wonder if that applies to Barkley, too? I didn't think a big spoon would be productive bait to throw in Barkley due to shallow ledges unlike KY Lake. Am I wrong on this? Is it best to cast it on top of the ledges or on deep side?

Re: Spoon at Barkley?
Well, I dont have much experience fishing KY lake with spoons, but did spend a few days on Pickwick a couple of years ago with one, and it can pay off. And in my opinion, Pickwick would be more like Barkley than KY Lake. I looked for long sloping points that had about a 7 to a 10 foot drop. Thats all it took, so I would say fishing Barkley would not be anywhere near out of the question. I heard talk of a few good fish being taken off spoons, so I took a few with me, and had a blast with them. Bad part, was I only took a few, and when it came time to buy more, while we were down there, I found that it was a very costly mistake. I print my own designs for one side of the spoon, and could not even get close to buying what I needed, and not only that, the price they get for them is outragous down there, lol.

I've caught nice ones on Barkley with flutter spoons, heck they work on any lake, points on channel swings, humps or roadbeds. They are fun, the fish hard them hard.

Curious, do you add treble hook as trailer? If so what size?

All of the larger ones I use here only have a treble hook at the tail of it.

Re: Spoon at Barkley?
I know, what I meant is you can add another treble hook to the original hook as a trailer like FLW Larry Nixon and David Young did at KY Lake last year so I'm not sure what size trailer they used. To reduce short strike.
