Rachel Alexandra in a WALTZ. Zardana better take a good look and sniff at the top of the stretch because that is as close as she will get. 2nd back after a LONG layoff and questioinable training leading up to first race this year, an excellent workout last week on the same CD surface where she won the Oaks by 20 1/4 lengths last year and the same surface where she will win the Classic on Breeders Cup Day this fall.
I am more upset at my 2nd pick for the Derby has now been scratched. First I said Eskendereya would win the Derby and sat here last night and handicapped that Endorsement was the "Now" horse and he is now scratched. Endorsement would have been his 5th start lifetime, Beyers improved every race to a 101 in last start - which is right behind Eskendereya as tops in the field, Beyers improved as the distance got longer, out of Distorted Humor out of an AP Indy mare would have ran all day long. Rule would have been the speed of the speed and had enough class to hold on for a part but he is scratched as well. There will not be any betting on the Derby from me because too many questions around all the rest.
Re: ReMatch Fri In Oaks Day
Billy....I appreciate you posting this....can you tell me which race this is and which post position Rachel will be coming from? Dang it I hate it when the numbers start spinning in my head....in this case Rachel is carrying 4 to 6 pounds more than the other horses...grrrrrrr!!
Better consider Unrivaled Belle too...I'd love to see a 4-5-6 Trifecta since all three are Kentucky horses.
Re: ReMatch Fri In Oaks Day
That's going to be a great race to watch, terrible one to bet. If I were an exotic bettor (which I am NOT) I would consider singling Rachel in a Pick 6.
Re: ReMatch Fri In Oaks Day
I am going to go with Unrivaled Belle LOL.
Sorry, that horse should have not been Horse of the Year! Rachel wins the Oaks and a triple crown race, while Zenyatta goes undefeated and wins the Super Bowl of horse racing. How did Rachel do today?
