Sad Day On The Farm
Was mowing the grass yesterday when my wife came out and stopped me. My father-in-law called and told her that one of the mares that was due in about 2 wks had aborted in the field. Foal was dead.....They sent them both to the Equine hospital.
Don't know the cause. Could be a number of things. One thing that comes to mind is the catepillar over abundance this yr on fruit trees.
I'm going to walk the fenceline tonight in the back field to see if there's any signs of them there. Maybe that's it, but maybe not. Either way they have to be eliminated...

Yes it was... I saw a clip the other day warning of the same type of hatch this yr....

That's sad and weird at the same time. I would never think about catepillars in a non-fishing sense very often.
