High dale water level will be sticking around for a few months.
We have a cabin 3/10th of a mile up from wisdom dock and the water is up and the parking lot probably 25-30 feet making it near impossible to launch, the dock and to modify a walkway with a 2 foot hight step up just to be able to walk without getting wet, we talked to a worker in the dock store (nick) and he said that since dale hollows obey river merges with cumberland river (which i didn't know) he said that cumberland due to the dam situation has to drain their water first which will take several month causing high water levels in the cumberland river leading to nashville which then result in Dale Hollo being very un normally high until June he said. So My advice is to put in at the state dock if your planning on launching at dale.
Good luck.

Lot of problems effecting the release of Dale Hollow Waters. Ky and Barkley are both at record levels and the two of them dump into the already swollen Mississippi River only a few miles thru the dam. They both fill from the south to the north and with all the rain the Western TN received and the floods they are battling will have to get this water north thru the dam as well. Then you have to get Cumberland Dam back down to 680 for fear of the dam breaking. They can't release the water too quickly for it will only add to the already flooded lakes and area but can't hold the dam at a bit over 700 either for fear of the dam breaking and sending 30 feet high water all the way to Nashville. This will keep Dale backed up as well since the Obey meets the cumberland river only a mile or so down stream from the Dale Hollow Dam. Throw in Laurel is a bit high and dumps into Cumberland, which dumps into the cumberland river, dale hollow dumps into the cumberland river, the cumberland river makes up Barkley and it dumps into the mississippi. It will be a while before lake levels are back to normal but I don't think it will be several months. My guess is with no heavy rains, 2nd week of June back to normal levels.

They are dumping dale at a pretty good clip. Just click on this link it shows it has already dropped nearly 2 feet falling at .02 feet per hour that equals nearly 6 inches a day ,that is slow but it soons adds up .http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/hh/resplots/dal_a.html

They opened the spillway gates at the top of the dam Tuesday, running 7000 cf/s. That is lettin it roll pretty good. They have dropped it almost 2 feet this week. But I still expect it to be high thru June.
