When I went Thursday the water was still covering the parking lots at Settlers Trace, Van Buren, and the other one (name escapes me) so even if they are open, there is nowhere to park. When we got to Possum Ridge at 7 am there was nobody there, by the time we left at 1 or 2 the parking lot was 3/4 full of trailers and vehicles...
water color was heavy stain but not muddy and most of teh floaters were gone. Fishing was terrible for us, but i would asssume we were just lookin in the wrong spots or using teh wrong presentations...
Thanks for the info. I called the marina at Settlers Trace and was told there ramp was closed due to high water. State Park (Possum Ridge) is open but parking lot is full. Van Buren and Chowning Ln. closed due to debris that deposited on the ramp and in the parking lot.
I can't speak for the ramps, but I was out in a canoe yesterday. The water itself was pretty clean from the bridge upriver. There were a few spots where the debris accumulated, but the main channel was pretty clear. I paddled all the way up to the first riffle. A guy in a bass boat came up after me and was stopped by the low water about a 100 yds short of as far as I could go. From the water marks on the trees, it looked like the level dropped about 3 inches over the 4 or so hours I was there. But the water was still up into the trees. But if you're into carp, they were everywhere.
