Father and Son Trip Need Help Lake Barkley
My father and I will be taking a trip to Lake Barkley June 2-5. We will be staying in a cabin in Little River on Barkley. Do not know much about water depth in this area, fishing, or what to expect. But there are a few things I would like to know. When one does not know the ledges how are you able to find them? Just look on the graph find a drop and fish it? For fishing Barkley this time of year any suggestions...we can move and will have about three other guys with boats so we should be able to find a pattern...I am not dump to fishing just trying to learn this great big body of water...

I would be hard to tell you how to find productive ledges in a few paragraphs....your best bet if you are considering ledges and you aren't familiar w/ them is to find main lake points and follow them out and find where the tip drops off into deeper water and try there. Jigs, big worms, crankbaits, and shakyheads all work.

plenty of good ledges IN little river itself, easiest way to start off is look for a channel marker buoy - sit deep cast shallow, no bites move to the next one. There is A LOT more to it, but you can catch fish like this and if you study your area when you catch some fish just try to replicate it.
