how long tell they get back to summer pool??
Im not sure why they arent puling Barren real hard yet, but if you check teh Corps site they are pulling teh crap outta green right now. You just got to remember that Rough, Nolin, Barren, and Green all end up in the Green River in the west end of teh state.. so they gotta be careful how much water they let out or they may flood someone downstream...

so is green river down to summer pool yett ????? is it fishable?
Green is about 9 foot above and falling around a foot per day. If they pull Green more than 6000 cfs it gets out of it's banks and onto farmland downstream. I don't complain about keeping fields dry because I like to eat regularly. It's fishable by some peoples definition, not very fishable by mine just yet. If possible wait till after this weekend and it should start getting good in a hurry.
Green is looking better everyday. I check it everyday on my way home from work. It is about 9ft over summer. They are pulling it hard right now. Barren is waiting on green right now. Just about the same report as slobslayer.
They are pullin Nolin hard I expect summer pool by Friday

Barren Park Ranger said that the Corps got some nasty phone calls from Congressmen because of Bowling Green complaints about water levels - so Barren is on the slower drawdown. They claim it will be a month until it is at summer pool. The math doesn't add up unless they open up the dam a little more.
I can tell you that there is much more stuff floating down the lake right now so be careful. Trees are everywhere.
So because Bowling Green complains the people of Glasgow's economy gets to suffer... that makes sense...
ACCORDING TO THE CORP BARREN RIVER LAKE IS FOR FLOOD CONTROL 1st, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE RECREATION VALUE. BUT YES WHEN BG CRYS GLASGOW HURTS. BUT WITH GREEN RIVER LAKE BEING PULLED HARD THEY CANNOT LET ANT MORE OUT OF BARREN UNTIL GREEN IS DOWN, STILL A LOT OF WATER IN THE RIVER NOW. ALSO ALL THIS FLOWS INTO THE OHIO AND THEN THE MISS, WE JUST HAD A LOT OF WATER AT ONE TIME. IT WIL BE END OF SUMMER BEFORE BARREN IS NORMAL.
Barren is fishable. Bassmanshawn you make it sound like they aren't letting you fish it. Get out there and getcha some. People are getting out, catching fish, and some folks are even tubeing and skiing.
Also something to keep in mind is that the intake for the Water Treatment facility is sensitive to high water in the Barren. Too high and they are not able to keep BG supplied with drinking water. Also the drinking water is what the Fire department uses to fight fires. Pretty important stuff.
The corps should open up more ramps IMO.
Green's only up about 8ft as of today and theyre pulling just over 5000cfs....dropping a foot day but i've heard they might shut it off for the weekend so people can fish in the river below the lake...Green is very fishable with very few floaters....i know people have been catching tons of catfish and the bass fishing has gotten pretty good in the past week or so....
