Blue River Help
I was just wondering if the Blue River was easily wadeable or a little to deep for that. I have a kayak but have no way of getting picked up downstream unless it is possible to paddle upstream during low pool?? Any help would be appreciated, since I live in the Newburgh area.

Re: Blue River Help
I think that Top Shop in Evansville takes canoe trips to the Blue River from time to time. You might call them and see if they can hook you up with a trip or some one to go kayaking with on the Blue River.
Also try calling Canoe Evansville with Wesselmans Nature Center and see if they schedule trips to the Blue River.
I have never been there but have heard many others talk about the Blue River.
Sounds like it would be a fun trip to take.

Re: Blue River Help
Blue River is wadeable most places. And you could paddle against the current in most pools if it hasn't been raining hard. You might try Cave Country Canoes in Milltown, they rent canoes and pick-up - for a fee they may pick you up in your yak. When we do tubing trips we drop a vehicle off downstream.

Re: Blue River Help
as stated blue river is wadeable in most places. They also rent canoes in Fredericksburg for a day trip or overnight trip to milltown. The closer you get to the ohio the less wadeable it is so I would go to Milltown or Fredericksburg area. I grew up wading blue river everyday and the fishing is good for goggleye and smallmouth

Re: Blue River Help
Haven't floated the area from Fredricburg but from Milltown it is way to crowded with canoes. Pretty area though.
