curado reel
Well i finally have decided to go with the shimano curado reel. I have never fished with one of these but basd on recomendations im buying one tom. Im mainly going to be throwing spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, frogs, etc. So i think i should go with the 7;1 instead of 5;1 unless anyone of you thinks i shoudnt? Also im buying a shimano rod too. Not a rod to go with this reel, but for working/jiging. It's my understanding it has a lifetime warrnaty, so anytime it breaks it gets replaced no questions ask? I have never had a shimano rod either, but figured I should now so for the rest of my fishing days im covered. If any of thses asumptions is no where close to being accurate, please steer me in the right direction, thnx!

Re: curado reel
You will love the E7. I have a couple and am going to get a couple more. I like the shimano rods now. They have come a long way for sure. I have a crucial and a cumara and really like both of them. I may buy another cumara as well. The warranty is very good but just like others it is supposed to only cover craftmanship defects. I also heard that they are going to be going to a send out service for all models below the cumara but i don't know if that is true. Either way you will be very happy with the reel and the rod.

Re: curado reel
Any Shimano rod you buy from a Volteus up has a lifetime warranty period. Whether it is craftsmanship or because you snap one over your knee because you just lost a 10 pounder they replace it. I just replaced a 5 year old Clarus rod because my daughter snap the tip off when she shut my truck door on it. It was replaced no questions asked! You will love the Curado. The E5 is a great deep cranking reel but I would stick the E7 for what you are going to use it for. All I own is Shimano rods and reels because they back there product better than any other manufacturer.

The E7 handles braided line exceptionally well. I typically keep 40 or 50# on one of mine at all times. For frogs and buzzbaits it works well for me. Enjoy the reel.
