The British and BP
I was watching the national NBC news tonite and got just a little upest. The british people are mad at at the US because we are mad at bp and giving them a lot of crap over the oi spill. BP is a huge employor and the brits say WE, the Us citizens are hurting there business and the oil spill is not all bp's fault. I disagree and the brits being mad at us really chaps my arse. We, the proud people of the USA, are the ones dealing with it, the people of the gulf coast are the ones suffering the affects of it, and BP and the brits are doing as close to nothing about it as they can. I think they, the brits, need to "have a coke and a smile and STFU"!! Anyone you else got any thoughts?????

Re: The British and BP
Watching a show on discovery right now about what happened and a behind the scene look at how they are approaching this problem. They are showing video of the platform on fire and describing what was going on during the search for survivors. Very interesting and some of the conversations from the first few weeks are basically saying it will take months to fix this.
The Brits can be upset but also should understand that while they might feel some monetary effect in Bp stock or oil prices.....we are watching a pristine gulf get swallowed up by an oil slick and an environmental disaster.

Re: The British and BP
Nothing against our friendly neighbors and allies across the pond, but until they fly over here and scrub a duck, pick up tar balls, or successfully explain to a Louisiana shrimp boat captain how they ought not be mad at BP, I also concur with the STFU sentiment.

Re: The British and BP
It doesnt surprise me at all. Typically the British have never liked Americans. Back in the 80's, we went to England and our travel agent made us put Canadian stickers all over our lugguage and to wear Canadian pins and tshirts so the British would know we are not Americans. Man they thought Americans were arrogent. At least the ones who were tourists over there got a bad name. Even American tourists were wearing Canadian tshirts etc as they didnt want any trouble while travelling. When I would see Canadian stickers I would go over to them and ask them where they were from in Canada and they whispered that were indeed Americans. I thought it odd at the time but they wanted to avoid trouble. So their comments now dont surprise me. Thats the way they feel about you folks.

I never realized it was that bad. I read a study that people who have to watch just one sport, drink too much, have bed teeth, are over taxed, actually still have a King and Queen, call their police bobbies and speak funny have alot of problems with Jealousy and are generally unhappy. Just kidding around:p
I actually could give a buzzard squat what anyother country thinks of us.

Where is the other company that was participating in this venture. I'm not sure but I think I heard it was Chevron or Aramco, and how have they been so carefully protected in all this mess? They own 25% of this oil well and nobody is calling them out on it.
