BP should NEVER be allowed to drill here EVER AGAIN......

They KNEW of problems.........and went the CHEAP route.
Even when Haliburton made recommendations, they STILL went the cheap route.
Everyone involved with this mess needs to go to JAIL.......
Later,

That doesnt surprise me that big rich oil companies go the cheap route. Thats how they get so freaking rich. Now that they have been caught doing it and made a mess of the Gulf why not kick their asses back to Britain and get an American oil company to do your drilling. More accountability that way. I would think having an American company do the drilling they might care more about damage that has been caused by this spill. I would think they would have handled it better. Just my thoughts on it.
Re: BP should NEVER be allowed to drill here EVER AGAIN......
The truth that's hard to imagine or maybe prove is that prolly every well out there takes shortcuts and large risks to get the job done everyday. I know BP messed up and I know it's so easy to hang them from the highest tree but I just think they, like others, do business everyday trying to make money.
They need to pay for their mistake but shutting them out of doing busness or attacking them as Barry has for spending their money on tv ads isn't good.
I see Barry and the boys frothing at the mouth to get some knee jerk reaction energy cap and trade bill through congress before the mid terms. The more they get the public up in arms over this accident the more fuel they have to shove some bill down our gullets. It's an easy pattern to see coming.....demonize the opponent get emotions running high and then shove this bill on em they won't know what hit them.
Re: BP should NEVER be allowed to drill here EVER AGAIN......
Problem is that there are multiple companies involved and all share some responsibility. I agree with Geo, once you determine who is liable for what, its time to look at jail time and/or steep fines.

Thats true, but so many are involved they will be pointing at each other for years. They all have tons of money hit them all with big fines, then God forbid it should happen again, they will be jumping to get to the front of the line to tell whos at fault.
Am I the only one who thinks the government needs to step back and look at how they have handled this mess. I mean after the first couple weeks of bp dragging its feet and not want ing to do anything the gavernment should have stepped in and taken charge, then hit bp with bill. Afterall it is the U.S, mainly the fine people of the gulf coast that are suffering.

No your not the only one and as a matter of fact this adminstration finally looked at it and realized the beating they are taking in the public opinion polls.
They blew it big time...no question about it. Get ready for the big press by Barry and his boss (Nancy Pelosi) to start the smear campaign on Bush and Cheney for their part in this. Many administrations have served with oil drilling policies but yet we will be told it was Bush who enabled this accident...just wait and see. Actually it already started with some Lead Dems.
Just wanted to point out that when Katrina hit Bush was on the problem alot quicker than Barry was with this. When the 9/11 attacked happened Bush was on the ground within days maybe sooner again alot quicker than Barry.

They had a similar situation in the arabian gulf, super tankers were made to stay on site and help vaccum the crude. How many super tankers do we the US own? Ifthis gets worse, whats to stop BP from filing bankpubcy? How would that be handled?

I guess this will be something for all the crook politicians in dc to point at each other and play the blame game. They sure do seem to be good at that. In the end, when all is said and done, we the people of this great nation will be paying the bill. It will be a raise in taxes, or some kind of grant that will be given to bp. The Americian people might as well bend over and grab our ankles......this is gonna hurt.....

Thats a very good point. What if BP decides it isnt worth it to clean up the mess they made and just go out of business, pack up their equipment and take off. What happens then? I heard something about this on my car radio yesterday that BP is saying if the American government expects them(BP) to pay about $70million for the damage and clean up that they cant afford that and will go out of business. So I can see that coming.
Re: BP should NEVER be allowed to drill here EVER AGAIN......
I hope they don't try that tactic. 70 million seems like a small figure to me...I just figured it would be more.
I do find it hard to believe that a figure like that could scare off a company that is so entrenched in our gubment's fuel and oil needs.
Re: BP should NEVER be allowed to drill here EVER AGAIN......
I just watched obama's address. He had some good ideas and I hope he follows thru. But I go back to what I posted earlier, kill them with kindness or baffle them with bull****.
Re: BP should NEVER be allowed to drill here EVER AGAIN......
I couldn't bring myself to watch it since I just ate:rolleyes:. Regardless of what was said I hope the cleanup continues to move forward.
