Lake St. Claire Smallie Fishing
Over the past 10 days I've been hearing a lot of great reports about St. Claire. I talked to a guy from Michigan last weekend when I was in Mexico who was telling me 100 fish days are common in May and June up there. He went on to tell me about the big numbers of 2-5 pounders you catch as well... Yesterday a friend emails me about how his brother just retunred from St. Claire and hammered them. They were not with a guide or anything and were catching 100 per day. Their biggest smallmouth went 7.1
I'm seriously thinking about making a trip up there next June. Has anyone been up there? What can you tell me about it? Are any specific areas better than others?
Thanks!

Be careful where you fish, in the Canadian waters the Smallmouth season opens the last Saturday in June.

there is quite a few people from lexington that go up there. Ask at Backwater outfitters how they have done in past years.
